– Cloud requires Materia Blade (sword) to be equipped in order to use his Limit abilities.

– Cloud can equip hair adornments (like Ribbon) even though it is primarily for females (only while in Soldier job).

Cloud’s Limit abilities only target tiles, not units, so you do need to utilize his skillset in advance using turn order to avoid enemies moving out of his abilities.

✨PvP Patch Changes:
Materia Blade is no longer required for Limit abilities and Limit can now be cast with any weapon, including barehanded.

Finishing Touch is now single target and inflicts all of: KO, Stone, and Stop, with KO having first priorty.

Cherry Blossom is considered Fire, Lightning, and Ice elemental. Because of this change, if any one of these elements are Absorbed/Negated/Weakened/Halved by the target, the entire damage becomes entirely Absorbed/Negated/Weakened/Halved by it.

Cloud’s Limit abilities function closely to the original FFVII Limit Level System. Abilities are initially locked and will unlock based on enemy HP damage taken. There are a few key pointers to be aware of:

  • Team damage does not increment your Limit Level.
  • Poison damage or recoil damage does not increment your Limit Level.
  • Reactive damage from abilities like Soulbind or Counter will increment your Limit Level.
  • Once a Limit ability is used, your Limit Level resets to zero.
  • Being KO’d will reduce your Limit Level by 1 on revive.
